Our Professor
Our Mentor
Our Coach
Our All-Around Funny Man Guru,
Steve Wilson
gave us a small but powerful lesson
without saying a word. . .
In fact,
why don’t you do what he suggested we do,
that’s right. . .
RIGHT NOW
Get a Straw
Get a Pencil
Get a Pen
A crayon
put it sideways into the your mouth

YOU’RE SMILING.
So what?
Well you are after all a
walking,
talking,
sometimes
balking
C H E M I S T R Y S E T
You just began a huge chemical reaction in your brain that:
“stimulates our brain’s reward mechanisms in a way that even chocolate, a well-regarded pleasure-inducer, cannot match. . .”
. . .And look, Mom,
NO CALORIES!
Hey, Sports fans,
Smiling just doesn’t help you on the inside,
it also works to your advantage from the outside.
A study from Penn State University found that people who smile appear
to be more likable,
courteous,
and even more competent. . .
and oh yeah. . .
it’s contagious!
Smiling actually changes your brain.
When you smile, your brain is actually aware of the activity
and keeps track of it;
Shaun Anchor, in his book,
“THE HAPPINESS ADVANTAGE”
s h a r e s:
“. . .if you smile often enough, you end up rewiring your brain to make positive patterns more often than it does negative ones. . . .”
Sondra Barrett claims in her book,
“SECRETS OF YOUR CELLS”
“. . .that when you let go of tension–an outcome that can be achieved through smiling–your cells let go of their rigidness. . .and this could end up saving your life; there have been cases where cancer patients go into remission after letting go of a big stress factor. . . .”

SMILING MORE
is a great thing for your life.
It costs nothing
and here’s the

Don’t feel like smijling
FOR REAL
stick a pencil
stick a pen
stick a crayon
stick a straw
sideways in your mouth and keep there for a minute
while you’re charting
while you’re reading
while you’re sitting in a traffic jam or a red-light
while you’re standing in line in the 10 or less aisle at the grocery store with a person who has a cart and a half full of goods in front of you that’ll be paying with a check and forgot their license ID in the car. . .

THE SCIENCE IS THE SCIENCE
Make no mistake about it
there’s plenty of straws you’ll find
that’ll break the camel’s back
but there’s quite a few
that’ll make the overly frowning World
absolutely smile!
Here’s to making the Universe Smile
one straw at a time
