Are you?
Are you a people watcher?
Are you more of a STORY-TELLER
than a
S T O R Y – H E A R E R. . .
I certainly wasn’t looking for this video
THE DICTIONARY OF OBSCURE SORROWS
so I don’t know if it
FOUND ME
or I discovered it
after having my
A T T E N T I O N
averted to it
but now it’s one of my most favorite sites:
S O N D E R
was the first one I saw
but it’s far from the last
and they are now
o n g o i n g
S O N D E R:
“n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own–populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness–an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.”
I love watching people
at the beach
at the store
at the bank
at the casino
at the restaurant
at the postoffice
at any intersection that brings
my path
to theirs
and as it does countless times over
every single day. . .
I wonder:
WHAT’S THEIR STORY
and then I hope that I don’t so much become a part of it
as to simply
N E V E R
mess it up–
affect it negatively. . .
What’s INTOXICATING:
Awaiting
Coming to the next guaranteed
I N T E R S E C T I O N
Everyone has a story. . .
but not everyone has a
H E A R E R
of the Story that not so much desperately
needs to be told
AS HEARD
Pay Attention, Class:
SCHOOL IS ALWAYS IN SESSION
