It started out simply enough at a nice friendly lunch with some co-workers;
the harmless question was tossed out over
the salads, meatballs, fish tacos, eggplant, soup and chicken strips
DID YOU EVER HAVE LONG HAIR ?
. . . And then came a series of photographs of proof on Facebook
that I posted
as did an esteemed colleague of mine
at that very lunch table. . .
And the next thing I knew, it snowballed a little bit
in fun kind of way
with some great replies/posts
. . .but it made me start asking this question:
If I have literally changed physically
and, if in fact,
what the medical and scientific community is telling us
is true
that every seven years on a cellular level
I’m a different person
Could it possibly be that I’m literally not the same person
S P I R I T U A L I T Y. . .
If a picture could be taken of
THE SOUL
how much would it v i s i b l y change
n o t i c e a b l y
. . .If there was someway that someone
could’ve taken a photograph of me spiritually;
at my very SOUL
at 3 or at 10,
at 16 or 25, 37, 49, 58, 60
or now at 63
Would someone be able to take a look at all of those differences and reply
“My how you have changed. . .”
THE QUESTION
in its self is thought provoking
even profound
but at the very least
there is a distinguishing
unbelievable thread that remains
the same
and says
“YES, I see the resemblance”
Ultimately the question is NOT
how much hair have I lost
how much weight I’ve gained
how many wrinkles I have obtained. . .
But how much more compassionate
more accepting
more forgiving
more empathetic
more kind
more giving
more loving
have I become~~
A L L
of this because
of a simple lunch with a question,
“Did you ever have long hair?”
So gut up sports fans. . .
Let’s see some of those
YOUR THEN/NOW PHOTOS
As you reflect on who you were
who you are

And who you’ll always BE. . .
