Maybe it’s not so much about being Remembered as it is simply not getting FORGOTTEN. . . .
I’ve NOT been remembered LOTS as a minister, a Life-Celebrant, a Spiritual Care Coordinator with hospice, a Wedding Liturgist, a Speaker for Leadership, Communication, Spirituality, End-Of-Life Issues. Maybe too many times. But I have literally, powerfully, emphatically NOT been Forgotten.
Most of the phone calls I get to fulfill any of the roles above is merely been because I’ve NOT been forgotten.
I’m sincerely, intimately, “THAT GUY!”
In a world where we fight to get noticed, scratch to be remembered, claw not to be forgotten–then maybe maybe all of these things could take place more powerfully, if you cared, cared about NONE of it just by being, THAT GUY.
Truth be told and more, realized, it’s kind of good to be THAT GUY:
Without a name
Without a hook
Without horns, bells, whistles, drums and cymbals!
Maybe the greatest Lives touched are the One’s you have absolutely no idea you are actually touching!
Would it be a crime or a huge misfortune, a disadvantage, a shame, to be THAT GUY?
Dare you gamble NOT to be offended by being THAT GUY who delivers, produces, enhances, supplies, enriches, lifts up others not so their name might be on the lips of the masses but their deeds be FORGOTTEN NOT in the isolated hearts that beats differently by just simply being THAT GUY?
Maybe THAT’S too much to ask or expect or remember. . .Maybe?
But never for THAT GUY!
